Author: Rick Riordan
Genre: Fantasy
Percy Jackson the main character is a half- blood. A half-blood is half Greek God, half human. In the first book, you find out which parent is the god, and who the god is. Percy goes to a half-blood camp where he trains to fight monsters and is protected from powerful monsters. If you’re lucky, you get to go on a quest. Percy goes on a quest but he is not the leader of this quest, his good friend Annabeth is. Annabeth also asks Tyson, Percy’s half-brother, and Grover, a good friend who is a sytar, to go along. In Greek mythology three is a magic number and is usually the number of people on a quest. Supposedly if you have more than three people, only three come back alive. This quest is really important because it decides whether good or evil will rule the world. So if you want to find out if Percy and his friends make it back alive, and whether evil or good wins, then read to find out. . .
I love this book; the book is exciting from the start. It is better then most other books I have ever read. In fact, the only books I think are as good as this one are the first through third books in this series. I think the fifth book in this series, which isn’t published yet, will live up to my expectations of being just as good. I love the description of the author; he knows just the thing to get me excited about the book. For example instead of an old door, he describes it as an aged crooked, moldy, creaky door.
You might like this book if you like adventure or fantasy. If you like writing full of detail and descriptions, you would enjoy this book. If you like being left at the end of chapters with cliffhangers, this is the book for you. You will want to read on and on until you finish the book and then you will want more to read.
Key Information: It is book number four in a series. You should read them in order. First is The Lightning Thief, then Sea of Monsters, then The Titan’s Curse and then Battle of the Labyrinth. I really recommend Battle of the Labyrinth. It is a little challenging for the average reader. You probably shouldn’t read it if your struggling in reading.
